The newest health obsession of the moment is CHIA SEEDS.
Chia seeds are classified as a superfood. These seeds are put in milk to make puddings, in bread, in rice crackers, crackers, in oats,stir fries, jam, cakes, salads.They are high in:
- Fiber
- Protein
- Omega 3 fat
- Calcium
- Manganese
- Magnesium
- Phosphorous
- Zinc
- Potassium
- Vitamin B3
- Antioxidants (ferulic acid, caffeic acid, quercetin)
This gel is due to the the outer shell of the chia seed is made up of a water soluble mucilage, that swells up several times and acquires a gel like consistency.
When we eat chia seeds a gel in the stomach that slows down food absorption and that make us feel full.
Unlike flax seeds, chia seeds can be absorbed completely by the body.
Here comes a recipe for my delicious CHIA PUDDING:
Chia pudding with peanut butter, pumpkin seeds, pecan nuts, blueberries, raspberries,raw cacao nibs and sugar free raspberry jam from finnerodja |
Chia pudding with raw coconut chips, pumpkin seeds, pecan nuts, gojberries, cashew nuts, raw cacao nibbs and sugar free jam from finnerodja
Ingredients: 3 dl coconut milk, 1/2 dl chia seeds, a few drops of stevia (optional), and a pinch of vanilla.
1. Mix everything. 2. Place in a bowl, glass or mug. 3. Place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes (preferably over night) 4. Top with your favorite toppings. I love adding loads (as you might have noticed from the pictures above) 5. Enjoy
Coconut chia pudding with Teisseire Mix & go Blackberry and apple. Toppings are : blue berries, pecan nuts, raw cacao nibs and coconut chips.
1. Mix everything.
2. Place in a bowl, glass or mug.
3. Place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes (preferably over night)
4. Top with: blue berries, raw cacao nibs, pecan nuts and coconut chips.
5. Enjoy
